Police Community Support Officer (PCSO)

Applications are invited for the position of Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) within Neighbourhood Policing based across the Cleveland Police Force Area. If you want to give something back to your community, then becoming a Police Community Support Officer is well worth considering. As a PCSO, you’ll work on the frontline of your local force, providing a highly visible presence within the community to address local concerns and provide reassurance. As part of the Neighbourhood team you will patrol crime and antisocial behaviour hotspots, and assist police officers with crime enquiries.

You will have a crucial part to play in building positive relations and creating dialogue between the police and the communities we serve. All PCSO's complete a structured training and tutoring programme, which must be achieved on a full time basis, and is designed to give you a solid understanding in the essentials of a PCSO's role and powers, ultimately allowing you to achieve independent patrol. To become a PCSO, you must be confident, resilient and comfortable dealing with all sections of the community.
